Indications/Uses
Bladder outlet obstruction associated w/ benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 4 mg bid after breakfast & evening meals.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take after breakfast & evening meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Concomitant use of strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. Severe hepatic & renal impairment.
Special Precautions
Avoid concomitant use w/ other α-blockers or strong P-gp inhibitors. Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome during cataract surgery, postural hypotension during initial therapy & syncope may occur. Orthostatic hypotension. Fluctuation in BP. Abnormal ejaculation. Concomitant use w/ other hypotensive agents. Discontinue or reduce dose if a decrease in BP occurs in concomitant use w/ hypotensive drugs. Dizziness may occur & may impair ability to drive & operate machine.
Adverse Reactions
Orthostatic hypotension; diarrhea; dizziness, headache; retrograde ejaculation; nasal congestion, nasopharyngitis.
Drug Interactions
Increased exposure w/ itraconazole, selected strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, or boceprevir. Increased conc w/ cyclosporine. Increased risk of hypotension w/ tadalafil, sildenafil, or avanafil.
